Well, I never did say this blogging thing would be a regular occurance, but with a little prodding from Jula, I'm baaaaack!

So, my reason for lack of posts is that I'm in the throes of buying a house........ My first home...... Which is supposed to be all exciting and start of a new era etc etc.........

This has not been the case... Before I go into it, I have a terrible record with luck where finance is concerned....... Not because I'm particularly dodgy (though I do have my moments!) but it seems more just because I'm one of those lucky people who finds that if anything can go wrong at the worst possible moment, it certainly will..........

I can tell lots of stories about finance brokers who've blown sunshine up my arse about how everything is fine/approved etc etc until the point where I go and sign a contract, AND THEN.... LO and Behold........ "No sorry, we can't assist you with finance at this time, Have a nice life"

So, knowing my propensity for finance fuckups, I was somewhat sceptical about my finance broker telling me everything was fine, that I had conditional approval yada yada, and I mentioned to her that I was waiting for it to go pear shaped, as prior experience led me to anticipate....... And so it did....... Two days before the house was to go unconditional........ Oh fuck me, if anyone has been through this sort of thing, you'll know the head exploding (almost!) blood pressure rise you immediately get........

I was in the car at the time, and had visions of the authorities finding my car and believing that a particularly vicious slasher was at large in the big city, what with all the arterial blood spray that I envisiged gushing out of my burst jugular vein..... (I say jugular because I don't quite know what the vein in your temple that pulsates at such moments is actually called) You know, all CSI like, with old mate frowning and spouting something particularly smarmy/humourous as he bends down to survey the grisly scene of my car interior...........

Anyhoo, i'll cut a very long (it seems to be going on far too long to put all the angst in...)
story a bit shorter, I've reapplied with another finance company that I've never heard of (which I'm actually very happy with) the more dodgy and desperate for business they are, hopefully the more they will want to bleed me like a succubus for the next twenty five or thirty years.......

So I have another conditional approval, an extension on the finance clause in the contract, and that pulsating vein (in my forehead........ Don't be sick.....) has visibly reduced........... Having said that, I still feel like even in a sedentary state my heart is racing at a rate I'm not sure is a good thing........... Anyhoo......

I'll let you know how it goes.......... If there's no more posts, start checking the newspapers for the abovementioned scenario........

It's hard to tell who is trying the hardest to out do everyone else!!! The out of sync audio just helps the effect I think.....

I've been invited to a "Undies on the Outside" party in a couple of weeks, and am trawling for ideas for what I can wear...... Usually I don't have any trouble whatsoever with costume parties, but this one has me a trifle stumped, probably because of the lack of scope.......
